Jed's Journal

Simday 10 (Age 31)

I can't believe how well life has been going lately. My job at the lab is going pretty well (at least I enjoy it), I've been making (slow) progress on the Bizarro Victorian from Hell of Doom and, best of all, I'm in a frisky relationship with a gorgeous redhead. Looks like my karma's finally coming around.

Simday 9 (Age 30)

I feel like I've been on a decade-long bender (well...). My friends have been great, but it's past time I pulled myself up for a change. So I finally found a new job—one I like—at Sunrise Falls Labs, and I'm even taking correspondence courses for my doctorate in physics (since good ol' SFC doesn't have a grad school yet). And today I went out and bought a little card table for my sad little kitchen. It's a small step, but the first one I've taken in a long time. It feels good to be back on my feet (or off, since I finally bought a chair for the Bizarro Victorian from Hell...).

Simday 4 (Age 25)

Wow, I can't believe so much time has passed. I lost my job a while back (it sucked; I hated being an EMT) and couldn't keep up with the renovations on the Bizarro Victorian from Hell. I guess at some point my friends noticed that I kind of went off the grid, because people have been inviting me over and feeding me and stuff.

Tonight was Lissa; we talked a bit in college but not too much. She was always off with Leo or chasing some other guy and generally seemed like too much drama for me. But I was surprised that she actually seemed to be concerned for my welfare, so I agreed to meet her at Rock 'N Roll. Well, long story short -- we ended up making out most of the night (hey, she may be Drama but she's still hot). Kissing outside the public bathrooms isn't the most romantic thing in the world, but... well, let's not get into how long it's been for me.

Simday 1 (Age 22)

I may have gone slightly overboard in designing my awesome bizarro Victorian. I have no money for a shower, which is why for the time being I'm bathing in the sink. Thank goodness I'm no longer sharing a bathroom.

Senior year, second semester

Now that most of us are done with college—forever!—every day during our graduation countdown is like a paean to hedonism. Do we really have to go now?

Senior year, first semester

Now that we're in our last year here, we've settled into an easy routine. I know that it's not like I'll never see them again after college—I mean, we're all staying in Sunrise Falls—but it won't be the same. There's something about waking up every morning, shuffling into the kitchen with fresh pancakes on the counter and having breakfast with six of your best friends. You don't even have to put on a shirt!

Junior year, second semester

College is full of more surprises. I never thought I'd be spending all my time, much less making bee-eff-effs, with any of these types of guys. Guys like Tom, who probably would have kicked soccer balls at my head when we were kids.

Junior year, first semester

I miss rocking out sometimes! Hmm... I should go see if Nick's in his room...

Sophomore year, second semester

The snow feels like it's lasting forever. Today I went outside and did all the things I could never do in the urban wasteland: attempted a snowman, made a snow angel and even (no joke) petted a penguin! I have no idea where that little guy came from!

Sophomore year, first semester

I went to this party that the girls across the street were throwing. Most of them seem kinda dull or way too plastic. I wasn't really feeling it, which was sort of disappointing. I dunno, I didn't stay for very long though.

Freshman year, second semester

I've decided to give the academic thing a try. I wrote a term paper this semester and I'm hoping it pays off. The only computer in this whole dorm is in our tiny commons room, though, and it was a little distracting to write a paper while Adam and Vik were having an intimate discussion right there on the couch.

Freshman year, first semester

College definitely has a lot of freedom. The guys here are all pretty different—some of them are pretty intense about their studies and others are just here to party.
